Announcements - January 10, 2025

Any student in grades 7-12 interested in signing up for track and field should sign up on the sheets posted outside of the band room or outside of Coach Simon’s classroom. Conditioning for those not participating in a winter sport will be held on Monday’s, Wednesday’s, and Thursday’s from 3pm-4:15pm. This will begin on January 13th; we will meet in the Band room on the first day. Please contact Coach McPherson with any questions. 

  • Jackson Center UVCC students who are interested in competing on the Track and Field team should send an email to Coach McPherson at [email protected].

The Jackson Center FFA and FCCLA will be collecting used T-shirts to be made into dog toys and donated to the Shelby County Animal Shelter. Please turn in your gently used T-shirts to Mrs. Turner or Mrs. V. Kipker by January 23rd. Thank you for your generosity. 

 

Congratulations to all who participated in Right to Read Week! We have surpassed our reading goal of 20,000 pages! The total of pages read so far was 25,376! Students will earn a special breakfast next week as a reward for their impressive reading efforts! Way to go! 

  • Seniors are in last place with 893 pages. 
  • Juniors have read 1,018 pages.
  • 8th Grade read 3,178 pages.
  • Sophomores have read 3,925 pages. 
  • Freshmen are in third place with 4,058 pages. 
  • 7th Grade is in second place with 5,225 pages.
  • 6th Grade is first place with 7,079 pages. 

Make sure to turn your reading log into your teacher today for a final count! The individual class who read the most pages will be announced on Monday and get their extra treat! There are 5 more advantages to find hidden around the school this morning! Good luck! 

 

Next week will be the last of Pre-K through 5th grade Right to Read Survivor Week and students are encouraged to participate in our theme dress up week.  Monday's theme is: Flannel and Boot Day.  

 

Reminder....if you intend to take College Credit Plus courses next school year you need to attend the required CCP meeting on Monday, January 13th at 6:30pm in the cafetorium.

Please RSVP to Mrs. Kohler that you will be attending the meeting by this Friday, that way she can make sure there are enough folders made for everyone in attendance.
