  • As a district, we improved from 20 state indicators in the 2007-2008 school year to 22 indicators this past year (out of 30) and earned an "Excellent" rating.

  • Our performance index as a district is  92.4.  If you need to see how the performance index is calculated, please look at the 2nd page of the report card.  (link to report card is above)

  • Our value added score was rated a "+" which means that our students showed more than one year's growth in math and reading.

  • We reached AYP as a district, which is a federal standard for "adequate yearly progress" in each sub-group.

  • Our value-added score was the highest in Shelby County for the second consecutive year and top ten (out of 600+) in the state this year.

High School Grades 7 - 12

  • The high school maintained its an "excellent" rating in the 08-09 school year.

  • Adequate yearly progress was "met" for all sub-groups.

  • The value added score was a "+" for the 3rd year in a row which led to the "excellent" rating.

Elementary Grades K-6

  • Out of 12 state indicators, the elementary school improved from 7 to 9.

  • The performance index improved from 90.8 to 93.9 which led to an "excellent" rating for the first time ever at the elementary school level.

  • Adequate yearly progress was met  for all sub-groups.

  • The value added score was "+" which means that the students in the elementary showed more than one year's growth.

 

Report Card Goals for the 2009 - 2010 School Year

  • Continue to score a "+" rating in our value added measure at every level. 

  • Improve our district indicators to 30 out of 30 on the state report card.

  • To achieve Excellent with Distinction with two more years of positive value-added.

  • Improve our performance index for the district another 2 points to 94 or 95.

  • Meet all federal AYP goals at the district, high school and elementary levels.

  • Continue progress in reading achievement and improve math scores at all levels.
